What is ASINSpotlight and who is it for?

ASINSpotlight is a suite of real-time Amazon research tools, available three ways: a Desktop app for Windows and macOS, a Cloud Scanner that runs in your browser with nothing to install, and a scraping API for developers. All three fetch product data directly from Amazon — in bulk and in real time, never from a cached database. It's built for Amazon sellers who work at scale — whether you do dropshipping, online arbitrage, wholesale, cross-border FBM, or category-specialized reselling. Most questions below cover the Desktop app; the Cloud and API pages have details specific to those.

How is it different from Helium 10, Keepa, or other Amazon tools?

Most Amazon tools work from cached databases — you see data that's hours or days old. ASINSpotlight fetches everything directly from Amazon in real time. It's also built for bulk volume: you can scan thousands of products per session by keyword, storefront, brand, or URL. Key differentiators include storefront scanning beyond Amazon's 20-page display limit, a dedicated out-of-stock smart grabber, and support for 18 Amazon marketplaces.

What are the different ways to find products?

The desktop app offers four scan modes:

  • Keywords & barcodes — search by keywords, UPCs, or EANs with optional dig mode and out-of-stock grabber
  • Competitor storefronts — paste a seller's storefront URL to retrieve their entire product catalog, even beyond Amazon's 20-page limit
  • Brand scanner — enter a brand name and fetch all its products on Amazon
  • Any Amazon URL — paste any search, category, or product list URL with full pagination support

How does the out-of-stock smart grabber work?

Amazon hides out-of-stock products from normal search results. The smart grabber finds these hidden products by scanning keywords and identifying items with proven demand but temporarily zero sellers. You can find tens of thousands of out-of-stock items in a single scan — opportunities other sellers simply can't see.

Can I scan a competitor's entire storefront?

Yes. Paste a seller's storefront URL and ASINSpotlight retrieves their complete product catalog. Unlike browser-based tools or Amazon's own interface (which caps at 20 pages / ~320 products), ASINSpotlight goes beyond this limit to fetch the full catalog — even if the seller has thousands of products.

Which Amazon marketplaces are supported?

ASINSpotlight supports 18 Amazon marketplaces: USA, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Japan, India, Australia, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Poland, Sweden, and Singapore.

Will Amazon ban my account if I use ASINSpotlight?

No. All requests are routed through our premium proxy network — nothing is ever fetched from your IP address. Your Amazon seller account is never involved in the scanning process. The desktop app doesn't log into your Amazon account or interact with Seller Central in any way.

What data do I get for each product?

Each product scan can return over 60 data points, including:

  • Title, ASIN, brand, category, UPC/EAN
  • Price, shipping cost, coupons
  • BSR (Best Sellers Rank) and estimated monthly sales
  • Total sellers, FBA/FBM seller count, Buy Box status
  • Ratings, review count, Bought in Past Month
  • All individual sellers with their prices, ratings, and fulfillment method
  • Trademark data (Trademarkia and WIPO)
  • GHS hazard labels for compliance

How much does it cost?

The desktop app starts at $28/month (Starter — 10,000 requests/day), $49/month (Growth — 60,000 requests/day), and $79/month (Scale — 120,000 requests/day). All plans include every feature — the difference is daily request volume, and you can cancel anytime. Cloud Scanner and the API are priced separately — see the Cloud and API pages for their plans.

Is there a free trial?

Yes — the desktop app works in free trial mode by default. You can start scanning right away with limited functionality and a small daily request allowance. This lets you explore the interface and see real results before committing to a paid plan.

Can I use the desktop app on multiple computers?

Yes, but not simultaneously. You can switch between computers — just close the desktop app on one before launching on another.

How do I get started?

Register at board.asinspotlight.com, download the desktop app for your platform, activate your license, and paste your first keyword or storefront URL. Your first scan takes under 2 minutes.

Which should I use — Desktop, Cloud, or API?

All three run the same real-time Amazon data — pick by how you want to work:

  • Desktop app — the full-featured scanner you install on Windows or macOS, best for hands-on, interactive research sessions.
  • Cloud Scanner — runs in the cloud with nothing to install; start a scan and it keeps going after you close the tab, ideal for large or long-running jobs.
  • API — real-time Amazon product, search, and offer data you can build directly into your own repricing and research tools.
